My mom took the girls to the “toy store” to buy shit they don’t need with money they don’t have and Parker chose this: It’s a bell…. To call the help…. I’m the help in this scenario. I mean seriously?! I think Scott and I would become alcoholics if we weren’t forever running out of beer. Tempel has a pet hamster named Puffball. She loves pets and will take them in any form we’ll allow. We’ve been responsible for the deaths of several small fish and hermit crabs and the return of one adorable little puppy. But in my defense the return of the puppy was beyond our control. We adopted [...] This weekend we went with our lovely neighbors to their house in the mountains. There was also going to be another family up there for the weekend whom we haven’t met. This is where my social anxiety kicks in. I get horribly nervous when I have to meet new people – I believe the psychological [...] I was taking the girls to Art Camp this morning – I know “Art Camp” but they love it and it gives me a few hours to actually get some work done. And Tempel was fretting over which Webkinz to bring with her. This drives me crazy. Her first Webkinz took her almost two weeks [...] I’ve been at a few dinners with the girls recently (girlfriends, not girl children) and there always seems to be that one profoundly annoying girl in the bunch trying to ruin it for the rest of us. I think it’s my civic duty to point out some warning signs and if you see yourself in [...] A friend gave us last minute tickets to the Braves game last night. Wasn’t that nice of her? The girls can’t remember their last Braves game and they seemed genuinely excited about going. The stadium was packed – a sea of red and blue. We were playing the Red Sox. Being at a sporting event [...] I was supposed to get my car washed today while I was running errands but I forgot. It’s the one thing Scott asked me to do but apparently it wasn’t important enough to me to remember it. I know this because that’s what he said. Guilt trip much? I just don’t care about a clean [...] Scooting out the door as soon as Scott gets home from work is the only way for us to make the Friday night family dinner and a movie date. We were all ready, T had picked out the lucky Webkinz that was going along for the ride and Parker was dressed in some kind of [...] I’ve spent the better part of the last seven years in a controlled scientific experiment proving the theory that my kids don’t listen to one word I say. They seem to hear other things like the TV or their friends or even me on occasion if I say something like, “cookie” or “ice cream.” But [...] |
